The Lebanese Yachting Federation announced Lebanon’s participation in the SB20 World Sailing Championship 2024 in Dubai through the player Philippe Saad and his Lebanese boat registration under the name kiss & Fly . The championship, held over a week, saw Lebanon secure the twenty-fourth position out of forty-eight participants from various nationalities. The results were as follows:

1st Place: United Arab Emirates – KidzKin
Points: 56

2nd Place: United Arab Emirates – Desert Eagle

3rd Place: United Arab Emirates – Super Bella
Points: 83

4th Place: Singapore – Rental Car

Lebanon achieved the 24th position with a total of 276 points under the boat name “Kiss and Fly.” The weather conditions were favorable, and thirteen rounds were organized, with two rounds each day. This demanded significant effort from the racers. The Lebanese boat completed all rounds, and in the third round, Lebanon secured the 12th position, coming close to entering the competition for the top ten positions.

The Lebanese result is considered excellent for their first participation in the World Championship, especially given the challenging circumstances in Lebanon. The presence of Lebanon on the international stage was reinforced by the Lebanese boat, the only one proudly displaying the national flag on the entire front sail of the boat, known as “Spay.”

The Lebanese Yachting Federation, represented by its Commodore Rabih Salem, congratulates player Philippe Saad and his team on their achievement of being first in this SB20 championship 2024 . Additionally, they commend the team for their initial participation and the result they achieved, contributing to Lebanon’s presence in the sailing world.
